Vasilis Bourantas is an established commercial film director. He studied Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business and Film Directing at the New York Film Academy.

He began his career as a Creative Director at leading advertising agencies before moving into directing commercials for major brands in Greece and internationally. His work has earned recognition at the Ermis Awards, New York Festivals, and Epica Awards (including a Gold Epica), and has been featured in publications such as Shots and Lürzer’s Archive.

His first short film, The Boy Who Fell To Earth, launched its festival journey at the Cannes Short Film Corner during the 79th Festival de Cannes in 2026. It has since been selected for the DISFF Drama International Short Film Festival 2026 and the competition section of the AIFF Athens International Film Festival 2026.
